Q&A

What is the difference between a literacy evaluation and a dyslexia evaluation?

A literacy evaluation may assess areas such as reading, writing, and spelling. A dyslexia evaluation includes a literacy evaluation and also encompasses an academic evaluation, and requires a psychological evaluation with cognitive ability scores. Language for Learning administers the literacy and academic testing; however, the psychological cognitive evaluation must be conducted with a licensed psychologist. Many public schools will complete academic and psychological testing upon request.
